Make sure that any Excel program you ever use defaults to
saving in the old format worksheet that you use uses the default
format of Excel 5/95 /tools/options/transition/ 'save as Excel 5/95'.
That little irritating paperclip will caution you sometimes.

Gripes about computers at UVA
Default versions of software are old
When ITC installs the current version of software packages, they
conservatively leave it as a XXXXXX.new version and hope that users find it.
If noone complains about bugs in the new software for 6-12 months, they make
the shift to making the default version the newer version. This is why
'netscape' on unix calls up the version 3.0. I think this is bad because the
users will not know that the new version happened, nad you will still get most of
the complaints after you make the switch. The
