Through Pohlman, I did a lot of Dilbert sounding activities:
- Wrote procedures for the new Quality Manual to qualify Pohlman as a
supplier for TRW Vehicle Safety Systems
- Documented and worked on improving the Quoting Process.
- Documented and worked on improving the Document Control process to meet
ISO-9000 and
QS-9000
- Designed Factorial Experiments for improving yield in laser welding an
airbag assembly.
- Planned Statistical Process Control for production of many automotive
parts.
- Interpreted and used Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for
gauge design and production of suspension parts for the Chrysler Prowler.
- Created a MS-Word macro to act like an in-house web-browser for our
non-internet aware company.
- Attended 120 hours of off-site team training through
TAI,
which actually taught me a lot.
- Helped clean the mud out of the plant & offices after the Great Flood
of 1993. 7.5 feet of water in the
building left 6 inches of pudding-like mud all over my stuff & turned
many of my books to mush.
- Re-programmed the phone system after the flood. Pohlman is one of the few
firms to have a male voice leading you through the menus and voice mails.
